{"id":9114,"date":"2013-05-25T14:39:51","date_gmt":"2013-05-25T21:39:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/?p=9114"},"modified":"2013-05-25T14:39:51","modified_gmt":"2013-05-25T21:39:51","slug":"home-cookin-changing-pizza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.peterstromquist.com\/?p=9114","title":{"rendered":"Home Cookin&#8217; &#8211; Changing Things Up Pizza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As you know, I make a lot of pizza at home, and generally start with dough I make myself, but these days, you can buy dough balls at most groceries that are pretty adequate. \u00a0For other types of crusts, try Boboli. \u00a0(My <a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/2011\/10\/perfecting-making-pizza-home\/\">dough recipe here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>So this is all about my Reuben pizza. \u00a0Start with your crust, and smear your favorite sauce on it (if I&#8217;m in a hurry, I like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.contadina.com\/products\/pizza-squeeze.aspx\">Contadina Pizza Squeeze<\/a>), \u00a0and layer thin &#8211; sliced corned beef on top of the sauce.<\/p>\n<p>Empty a small can of kraut, drain well, and I take it by the handful and squeeze the remaining brine out of it before spreading it from rim to rim.<\/p>\n<p>A mixture of shredded mozzarella and swiss tops this nicely. \u00a0 Thought I don&#8217;t care for thousand island on reubens, if you do, you might consider substituting it for the traditional tomato sauce.<\/p>\n<p>I have had seafood pizzas in China where the sauce was thousand island. \u00a0It wasn&#8217;t that bad.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/pizza.png.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9115\" alt=\"pizza.png\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/pizza.png.jpg\" width=\"192\" height=\"192\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As you know, I make a lot of pizza at home, and generally start with dough I make myself, but these days, you can buy dough balls at most groceries that are pretty adequate. \u00a0For other types of crusts, try Boboli. \u00a0(My dough recipe here).
