{"id":8859,"date":"2014-12-16T07:01:07","date_gmt":"2014-12-16T13:01:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/?p=8859"},"modified":"2014-12-16T07:01:07","modified_gmt":"2014-12-16T13:01:07","slug":"d-moes-indian-trail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.peterstromquist.com\/?p=8859","title":{"rendered":"Indian River, NC &#8211; D Moe&#8217;s Famous Hot Dogs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>(Update: \u00a0This location now closed)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ran into this place, hiding in the out lot of a strip mill, in Indian Trail, North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>This is a brand new building, but I didn\u2019t inquire if they were at another location previously, or why the hot dogs were famous.<\/p>\n<p>They have a wide variety of \u2018specialties\u2019, which are D-Moe\u2019s take on the various regional dogs of the US, like the \u201cArizona\u201d, (bacon wrapped, pintos, jalapenos, mayo, onions, tomato, mustard and cheese), the \u201cCarolina\u201d, chili, mustard, onions, and slaw, the \u201cChicago\u201d, and you know what that\u2019s all about, and the \u201cConey\u201d, which is mustard, beef chili, and diced onions.\u00a0 I chose the Coney, and chased it down with a local soda pop, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheerwine.com\/\">Cheerwine<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I wasn\u2019t too moved by D-Moe\u2019s chili, so I peeled out the dog to try it all by its lonesome.\u00a0 It\u2019s a good quality all-beef dog, and it was a-ok.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoe\u2019s Original\u201d seems to be the big daddy of the lot, a bacon-wrapped dog, D-Moe\u2019s mustard sauce, Texas Pete, onion, jalapeno, and D-Moe\u2019s blue cheese slaw.\u00a0 I maybe should have gone for that.<\/p>\n<p>As I was just \u201ctasting\u201d, I didn\u2019t try the sides, fries, sweet tater fries, rings, mac and cheese, a couple of slaws.<\/p>\n<p>D-Moe\u2019s also has a pretty fair-sized burger menu, and a couple of sandwiches, and damn, looking at the menu just now, I spotted fried bologna, wish I would have seen that on the spot, that would have been my choice for sure.<\/p>\n<p>As for \u201cCheerwine\u201d,\u00a0 the only thing it did for me was make me whine that it didn\u2019t make me cheery.\u00a0 Think of red 7-Up.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m a big support of local businesses, no matter where I am, and you should be too.\u00a0 So when you\u2019re in this part of the world, hit up D-Moe\u2019s for at least one meal.<\/p>\n<p>Complete menu <a href=\"http:\/\/d-moes.com\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8860\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8860\" style=\"width: 448px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/dmoe.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8860\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/dmoe.png\" alt=\"D-Moe's Famous Hot Dogs\" width=\"448\" height=\"275\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8860\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Coney Island<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/dmoe2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8872\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/dmoe2.png\" alt=\"dmoe2\" width=\"286\" height=\"244\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/38\/1713328\/restaurant\/Charlotte\/Indian-Trail-Stallings\/D-Moes-Famous-Hot-Dogs-Indian-Trail\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; padding: 0px; width: 200px; height: 146px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/b\/link\/1713328\/biglink.gif\" alt=\"D-Moe's Famous Hot Dogs on Urbanspoon\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>d moes indian trail\u00a0d moes indian trail<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Update: \u00a0This location now closed) Ran into this place, hiding in the out lot of a strip mill, in Indian Trail, North Carolina.
