Breeze Inn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One great thing about driving around rural Minnesota and Wisconsin has always been finding \u201cundiscovered\u201d\u00a0 local taverns and roadhouses, like the <a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/2012\/12\/south-range-superior-wi-kounty-quarthouse-review\/\">Kounty Quarthouse<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/2012\/10\/duluth-mn-billys\/\">Billy\u2019s<\/a>, or<a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/2010\/08\/saginaw-mn-swamp-sisters\/\"> Swamp Sister<\/a>s.\u00a0\u00a0 Some are pretty new (like 50 years or so) and some date back to prohibition.\u00a0\u00a0 While widely known and popular with a very local crowd,\u00a0 patrons from away often have to stumble upon these joints by accident, and it\u2019s usually a happy accident.<\/p>\n<p>One such place, just outside of Duluth, on the Jean Duluth Road,\u00a0\u00a0 just down from where we used to go horseback riding at Springhill Dairy, and near the source of our childhood play pen, the Lester River, is the <a href=\"http:\/\/thebreezeinn.com\/\">Breeze Inn<\/a>,\u00a0 dishing up the goods since 1962.<\/p>\n<p>A smallish place, long on service, with excellent taste in food, and the knowledge of how to prepare it well,\u00a0 our Minnesota Burger Reporter Kawika, accompanied by friend, hit the place up the other nite because of the entertainment,\u00a0 Todd Ekhart, a former local boy who now tours the world doing his impersonation of half of the Rat Pack as well as other musical celebrities.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, the entertainment drew our crew, but they stayed and raved about the food.\u00a0 A special grind beef from supplier <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ungermeatco.com\/\">Unger Meat<\/a>s\u00a0 makes the Breeze\u2019s versions of the Juicy Lucy (cheese stuffed burgers) (a Minneapolis invention, tho the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jucy_Lucy\">actual source point<\/a>\u00a0 is argued passionately), extra fine, and Kawika went with the Roasted Pepper Lucy, \u00a0stuffed with pepper-jack, and topped with jalapenos, bell pepper, onion, and seasoned sour cream.\u00a0 Burgers are served on a grilled Kaiser, and accompanied by house made chips, fries or sweet potato fries.\u00a0 Our party went with the latter and declared them some of the best they had ever consumed.<\/p>\n<p>So if you\u2019re tooling around Minnesota and want a great burger, hit the Breeze Inn;\u00a0\u00a0 if your tooling around the world and want to enjoy a show by Todd Ekhart, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toddeckart.com\/\">his schedule is here<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 Either experience, you\u2019ll thoroughly enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8749\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8749\" style=\"width: 448px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/breeze4.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8749\" title=\"breeze4\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/breeze4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"299\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8749\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Pepper Juicy Lucy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8750\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8750\" style=\"width: 448px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/breeze-p.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8750\" title=\"breeze p\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/breeze-p.png\" alt=\"Todd Ekhart, musical impressionist\" width=\"448\" height=\"299\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8750\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Todd Ekhart wows the crowd<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8751\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8751\" style=\"width: 335px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/breeze8-specials.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8751\" title=\"breeze8 specials\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/breeze8-specials.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"335\" height=\"448\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8751\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Specials Menu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/129\/901075\/restaurant\/The-Breeze-Inn-Duluth\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none;
