(Cute!).\u00a0 (I didn\u2019t have the heart to tell her the Caesar salad was invented in Tijuana, and had nothing to do with Italy).<\/p>\n<p>Feeling all Texan-like, I went with Country Fried Steak, mashed taters and gravy, and steamed broccoli.\u00a0 (WTF?\u00a0 How did that get on my plate?!).<\/p>\n<p>The food was \u2013 well, it is what it is.\u00a0 At $17 for dinner for two, and two beverages (with the coupon), that\u2019s a cheap nite out.<\/p>\n<p>IHOP was started in Toluca Lake, CA (a \u2018burb\u2019 of L.A.), in the 50s, and just down the street from the original Bob\u2019s Big Boy.\u00a0\u00a0 Today there are thousands of these pancake outlets around the globe, and in the last couple years, the parent company also acquired Applebee\u2019s, and changed their corporate name to Dine Equity.<\/p>\n<p>IHOP\u2019s menu is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ihop.com\/menu-navigator\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/ihop.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8699\" title=\"ihop\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/ihop.png\" alt=\"IHOP Country Fried Steak\" width=\"448\" height=\"308\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/132\/904581\/restaurant\/Westside\/IHOP-El-Paso\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; padding: 0px; width: 200px; height: 146px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/b\/link\/904581\/biglink.gif\" alt=\"IHOP on Urbanspoon\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You gotta love it when a date\u2019s idea of a big nite is going to IHOP.\u00a0 Well, at least I do.\u00a0 Pretty tired of high-maintenance relationships, on any level.\u00a0\u00a0 Add to the glamour of IHOP that your date brings a \u201ctwo-fer\u201d coupon, and you\u2019re sitting pretty.
