In one such mall, on Algonquin Road, you&#8217;ll find <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nerospub.com\/\">Nero&#8217;s Pizza and Pub<\/a>, a full menu restaurant and bar, open from 11AM daily.<\/p>\n<p>On the Monday nite following Superbowl, we expected to find the joint deserted, but the bar was busy with the local regulars, and the restaurant had several tables taken as well.<\/p>\n<p>Our waitress was friendly and helpful.<\/p>\n<p>My guest went with an Italian Beef\/Sausage combo (2nd foto below), accompanied by fries and slaw. \u00a0 It was excellent. \u00a0 I went with the thin crust pizza, sausage and pepperoni, also excellent. \u00a0 There was a slight char on the crust, which didn&#8217;t put me off.<\/p>\n<p>The tomato sauce was a bit sweeter than <a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/2013\/01\/algonquin-il-east-side-joeys-pizza\/\">East Side Joey&#8217;s<\/a>, down the road, \u00a0but nice nevertheless.<\/p>\n<p>While I would say I preferred Joey&#8217;s toppings, \u00a0either pie is worth going to if you are in the NW burbs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/nero1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8714\" title=\"nero1\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/nero1-300x222.png\" alt=\"Nero's Pizza and Pub, Algonquin, IL\" width=\"300\" height=\"222\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/nero2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8715\" title=\"nero2\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/nero2-300x238.png\" alt=\"Nero's Pizza and Pub, Algonquin, IL\" width=\"300\" height=\"238\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/171\/976095\/restaurant\/Illinois\/Neros-Pizza-Pub-Algonquin\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; padding: 0px; width: 200px; height: 146px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/b\/link\/976095\/biglink.gif\" alt=\"Nero's Pizza &amp; Pub on Urbanspoon\" \/><\/a>\\<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(2nd contribution from our Chicagoland reporter, thanks!)
