{"id":7970,"date":"2012-09-27T11:10:50","date_gmt":"2012-09-27T18:10:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/?p=7970"},"modified":"2012-09-27T11:10:50","modified_gmt":"2012-09-27T18:10:50","slug":"home-cookin-uncle-giuseppes-sausage-pasta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.peterstromquist.com\/?p=7970","title":{"rendered":"Home Cookin&#8217; &#8211; Uncle Giuseppe&#8217;s Sausage &#038; Pasta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Uncle-Giuseppes.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-7972\" title=\"Uncle Giuseppes\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Uncle-Giuseppes-150x150.png\" alt=\"Uncle Giuseppe's \" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Two sidebars before getting to the meat of the matter: \u00a0I like Italian sausage (or ground beef) tomato sauce and pasta. \u00a0 When I lived in Hong Kong, and I&#8217;d only get back to my apartment once a week or less, I&#8217;d make big batches and freeze in &#8220;me size&#8221; containers. \u00a0 There&#8217;d always be something to eat when I rolled off a plane.<\/p>\n<p>Second: \u00a0Mrs. Burgerdogboy makes some of the best home cooked Italian food in all the land. \u00a0 So on the occasions we have these &#8216;heat and eat&#8217; meals, they have a tough haul ahead of them to reach any level of decency.<\/p>\n<p>We picked this product up at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.groceryoutlet.com\/\">Grocery Outlet<\/a>, which we&#8217;ve been hitting lately for two reasons: \u00a0inexpensive wine, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harrisranchbeef.com\/index_hub.html\">Harris Ranch<\/a> ground beef. \u00a0The former for the Mrs., the latter for Burgerdogboy.<\/p>\n<p>This was pretty inexpensive, compared to say &#8211; Stouffer&#8217;s or Marie Callendars. \u00a0So we thought we&#8217; d try it.<\/p>\n<p>A quick search of the interwebs shows this product is made under the auspices of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelangelos.com\/\">Michael Angelo&#8217;s<\/a> of Austin, TX, a large manufacturer of frozen entrees and sides.<\/p>\n<p>50-60 minutes in a conventional oven (you know I always use one, even if nuking is permitted), and out comes the dish, looking not too appetizing straight from the fire.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/uncle2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7973\" title=\"uncle2\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/uncle2-300x224.png\" alt=\"Uncle Giuseppe's\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But stir it up, and it doesn&#8217;t look so bad, plus you&#8217;ll love the ingredient list: tomato sauce, sausage, and pasta.
