Such is the case with the Overlook, which I would pop in every day if I lived in the neighborhood. \u00a0Instead, it&#8217;s only my second time in four years.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s your standard diner fare, with daily specials, and a full bar to boot.<\/p>\n<p>They don&#8217;t call me &#8220;Burgerdogboy&#8221; for nothing, so breakfast for me, when it&#8217;s offered, is a hamburger patty with eggs, hash browns, and toast. \u00a0If I am in a &#8220;devil-may-care&#8221; attitude, I&#8217;ll order an additional side of some other meat, and yes please, extra butter on the side.<\/p>\n<p>I wasn&#8217;t ordering extra today, but the ample weight of the burger patty made extra meat not required.<\/p>\n<p>The breakfast, in its entirety, was served precisely as ordered: \u00a0meat medium, potatoes extra crispy, eggs over easy.<\/p>\n<p>I lingered&#8230;&#8230;and enjoyed the meal, two crosswords, and lotsa joe. \u00a0A welcome respite from \u00a0hotel dining, for sure.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/overlook1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7827\" title=\"overlook1\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/overlook1.png\" alt=\"Overlook Restaurant Portland Oregon\" width=\"448\" height=\"272\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/24\/282664\/restaurant\/Overlook\/Overlook-Family-Restaurant-Portland\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; padding: 0px; width: 200px; height: 146px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/b\/link\/282664\/biglink.gif\" alt=\"Overlook Family Restaurant on Urbanspoon\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Overlook Family Restaurant Review<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I like &#8220;greasy spoons&#8221;, and more especially, those American diner type restaurants that have some kind of connection to the Greek culture.
