In the parking lot of Whole Foods on SE Burnside, Franks A Lot has been dishing up specialty dogs for years &#8211; long before the whole Portland food cart craze.<\/p>\n<p>We were in the neighborhood, biding our time waiting on Portland&#8217;s extraordinary garden consultant, <a href=\"http:\/\/growmeorganics.com\/\">Sara Pool<\/a>, to plan the annual Burgerdogboy condiment garden. \u00a0We planned to meet for snacks or dinner, but I was feeling a might peckish, and Mrs. BDB suggested she buy me a dog to tide me over.<\/p>\n<p>Who was I to argue?<\/p>\n<p>Offering a myriad of my favorite types of dogs and toppings, I opted for P&amp;S (my initials, but also &#8220;plain and simple&#8221;) and went with the big beef dog with a schmear of yellow mustard, and nothing else.<\/p>\n<p>It was absolutely delish! \u00a0Thanks a lot, Franks a lot. \u00a0I&#8217;ll be back! \u00a0Often. \u00a0Might even consider moving to your &#8216;hood!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/franks2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7210\" title=\"franks2\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/franks2.png\" alt=\"Franks A Lot, Portland, OR\" width=\"448\" height=\"213\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/24\/281061\/restaurant\/Kerns\/Franks-A-Lot-Dog-House-Portland\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; padding: 0px; width: 200px; height: 146px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/b\/link\/281061\/biglink.gif\" alt=\"Franks A Lot (Dog House) on Urbanspoon\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Now how I have missed this place?
