I&#8217;m pretty leery of places in Portland that have the word &#8220;Deli&#8221; in their name;  here it can often mean &#8220;lottery games and hot dogs,&#8221; but such was not the case today.<\/p>\n<p>Tubby&#8217;s is a casual service breakfast and lunch joint with daily specials; the serve the working stiffs in the area, it seems.<\/p>\n<p>My pal went for one of the specials, prime rib French dip, and I opted for the bacon cheeseburger.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t ask about any of the origin of the ingredients, though I saw empty boxes in a back hallway from IBP, and that&#8217;s premium product.\u00a0\u00a0 The counter person asked me what I wanted on that, and few places do that anymore.\u00a0 There was a wide variety of sides choices, fries, tots, slaw, salad, etc.\u00a0 I went with fries.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a good &#8220;classic&#8221; hamburger, if you&#8217;re sorting into categories these days, like the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/dining\/index.ssf\/2011\/12\/the_top_ten_classic_burgers_in.html\">Oregonian<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And yes, I&#8217;d stop back, if I happened to find myself in that neck of the woods again.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/tubby2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6614\" title=\"tubby2\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/tubby2.png\" alt=\"Tubby's Deli, Portland, OR\" width=\"416\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/24\/1558520\/restaurant\/Northwest\/Tubbys-Deli-Portland\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; width: 200px; height: 146px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/b\/link\/1558520\/biglink.gif\" alt=\"Tubby's Deli on Urbanspoon\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Had a quick bite to eat here while meeting a friend from out of town who was doing some biz in this neighborhood.
