(Many believe Minnesota is the birthplace of frozen pizza, courtesy of Rose Totino, and later, Jeno Paulucci).<\/p>\n<p>Today I wanted to take the two French bread pizzas and compare them by cooking one via microwave, the other in a conventional oven.<\/p>\n<p>The instructions are straightforward.\u00a0 For microwave, remove wrapper, then zap 2-3.5 minutes.\u00a0 For conventional, preheat\u00a0to 375, bake on cookie sheet 20-25 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Done.<\/p>\n<p>Can you tell which loaf was cooked in which oven?\u00a0 Wait for it&#8230;.. wait for it&#8230;\u00a0 the one on the left is the microwave product.\u00a0 Surprised?\u00a0 Me to.<\/p>\n<p>Major differences to my senses?\u00a0 The microwaved product is actually more visually appealing to me, and although the conventional oven one, the bread was &#8220;crispier&#8221;, overall taste did not differ between the two.\u00a0 The limitations with &#8220;basic&#8221; microwaves remains the same, however, and that is uneven cooking, even with a carousel.\u00a0 I&#8217;m guessing this product turns out much better in an up to date microwave.<\/p>\n<p>But the taste is fine, mild sauce, slightly spicy pepperoni, a bit oily, but overall,\u00a0 for me, the flavor and texture is better than a lot of &#8216;regular&#8217; frozen pies.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d buy them again.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/2pizza.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6324\" title=\"2pizza\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/2pizza.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"380\" height=\"430\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve reviewed\u00a0Red Baron products \u00a0before, frozen pies brought to you by the good folks at Schwan&#8217;s from Minnesota, my home territory.
