last meal requests by condemned prisoners.\u00a0 It was in the news again recently because Texas has now banned last meal requests &#8211; unless it is something normally offered or fixed in the prison&#8217;s kitchen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Some examples of final meals include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lawrence Russell Brower<\/strong>: two chicken-fried steaks, a bacon cheeseburger, an omelet, barbecued meat, fried okra,\u00a0 fajitas, pizza, ice cream, and peanut butter fudge<\/li>\n<li><strong>Teresa Lewis<\/strong>: fried chicken, sweet peas, Dr. Pepper,\u00a0 and German chocolate cake<\/li>\n<li><strong>John Wayne Gacy<\/strong>: deep fried shrimp, a bucket of KFC, French fries, and a pound of strawberries<\/li>\n<li><strong>James Edwards Smith<\/strong>, who was executed in Texas in June 1990, takes the prize for one of the strangest last meal requests: a lump of dirt.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Victor Feguer<\/strong>: a single, unpitted olive<\/li>\n<li><strong>Timothy McVeigh<\/strong>: two pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So here&#8217;s this week&#8217;s thought provoker:\u00a0 since most people are very passionate about their favorite hamburgers, hot dogs, and pizza, if you, for any reason, where able to have a last meal consisting of one of these three favorites, what would your choice be, from where, and why?<\/p>\n<p>My own?\u00a0\u00a0 Pizza, definitely from my home-town favorite:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mysammys.com\/index2.shtml\">Sammy&#8217;s<\/a>, a local chain in the Upper Midwest.\u00a0 I&#8217;d order a sausage and pepperoni pie with green olives.<\/p>\n<p>Hot dogs?\u00a0 Also day with my hometown favorite,\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/2011\/03\/duluth-mn-original-coney-island\/\">Original Coney Island<\/a>.\u00a0 My last hamburger?\u00a0 That would pose a dilemma for me, there are so many great ones in the country these days.\u00a0 If I had to choose one from the burgers I have had in the past year, it would definitely be the <a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/2010\/10\/santa-fe-nm-bobcat-bite-restaurant\/\">Bobcat Bite<\/a> in Santa Fe!<\/p>\n<p>How about you?\u00a0 If you had to choose one final hamburger, hot dog, or pizza, let us know what it is, and where from?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Green Chile Cheeseburger, Bobcat Bite, Santa Fe (Short link to full story for mobile readers) From time to time, someone writes an article about &#8220;oddball&#8221;
