{"id":6105,"date":"2011-09-20T07:16:07","date_gmt":"2011-09-20T14:16:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/?p=6105"},"modified":"2011-09-20T07:16:07","modified_gmt":"2011-09-20T14:16:07","slug":"pillsbury-heat-eat-breakfast-biscuits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.peterstromquist.com\/?p=6105","title":{"rendered":"Pillsbury Heat and Eat Breakfast Biscuits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/pillsbry1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-6106\" title=\"pillsbry1\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/pillsbry1-300x251.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"179\" height=\"186\" \/><\/a>I often carp to anyone within spitting distance, &#8220;why are there only sausage and egg breakfast sandwiches in the frozen food?\u00a0 Why doesn&#8217;t anybody make a bacon and egg one?<\/p>\n<p>Well, someone at Pillsbury heard me, and came out with Bacon, Egg, Cheese Biscuits, a 2.5 minute microwave affair.\u00a0\u00a0 They come in two separate pieces, which you heat, and then &#8220;carefully lift one section onto the top of the other with a fork!&#8221; (so say the instructions).<\/p>\n<p>I did.\u00a0 And I did.\u00a0 And I let it rest for a bit.<\/p>\n<p>Bite.\u00a0 Flavor?\u00a0 Pretty good.\u00a0 Bacony? Yep.\u00a0 Eggy and cheesey?\u00a0 Yep.\u00a0 All three ingredients were diced, which is kind of strange, but it must have something to do with the cooking process.<\/p>\n<p>And the biscuit?\u00a0 Hey, come on, Pillsbury is the 900 pound canary in the biscuit segment, right?\u00a0 These HAD to be good.<\/p>\n<p>Not.\u00a0 They are &#8220;gummy.&#8221;\u00a0 Same problem as any sausage and egg sandwich I have tried.\u00a0 Not sure why. Not sure why they can&#8217;t use one of those &#8220;magic heating trays&#8221; to give a little toasted crispness to the outside of the biscuit.<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s like eating glue.<\/p>\n<p>Sorry folks, fail.
