{"id":4570,"date":"2010-12-01T11:38:39","date_gmt":"2010-12-01T19:38:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/?p=4570"},"modified":"2010-12-01T11:38:39","modified_gmt":"2010-12-01T19:38:39","slug":"mary-had-a-little-lamb-until-yday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.peterstromquist.com\/?p=4570","title":{"rendered":"Mary Had a Little Lamb  (Until Y&#8217;day)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/llama.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4571\" title=\"llama\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/llama-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"158\" \/><\/a>Our friends from<a href=\"http:\/\/brenalanfarm.wordpress.com\/\"> Brenalan Farm<\/a> dropped off our lamb order yesterday. \u00a0We have 25 pounds of chops, stew meat, ground, and various awful things. \u00a0Ooops, you know I meant &#8220;offal.&#8221; \u00a0 Wish we had a dog. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I have not been much of a lamb eater in this lifetime, unless it came in a giro, gyro, gee-row, heeer-ro, one of them there things. \u00a0 While I always have liked those, I grew especially fond of them while living in the 10th arrondisement in Paris, because it was one of the few street food things I could order without missing a beat. \u00a0(My French is&#8230;how you say?&#8230;..zeee terrible!). <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And of course, that&#8217;s pressed chopped and formed lamb stuff, not right off the hoof like these packages. \u00a0 I didn&#8217;t notice if there was one with fur in it. I&#8217;ll have to look.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>So anyway, we&#8217;re going to give a bunch of ours away to friend that really love the stuff, and they are all excited and wet thinking about that.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I will keep a mess o the ground, and make some burgers, and stuff some sausages. \u00a0 I am gonna try and make the sausages taste like gyro meat, think I would like that. \u00a0 \u00a0And rooting around in some old papers the other day, I found a recipe I used to seduce a woman from Spain &#8211; for a lamb stew with a lot of herbs, and I seem to recall that was pretty tasty. \u00a0But my memory may be clouded by the rest of that evening.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Green Acres buddies also brought some &#8220;polish&#8221; sausage and a salami (more like a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Summer_sausage\">summer sausage<\/a>), or, if you like, just a &#8216;soft&#8217; salami.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Haven&#8217;t broken into the polish yet, but have had a bite or twelve of the salami, \u00a0very tasty. \u00a0And here&#8217;s the rub (not that kind): \u00a0it&#8217;s made from a <a href=\"http:\/\/dictionary.reference.com\/browse\/llama\">llama<\/a>. \u00a0 The four legged kind, not the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0107426\/\">Keanu Reeves kind<\/a>. \u00a0 Like most ho-made game sausages, these are mixed with some ratio of pork, though that ratio is unknown to all parties concerned.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And why do I have to know it&#8217;s anything except delicious? \u00a0I don&#8217;t!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/llama.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4572\" title=\"llama\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/llama-234x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"234\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our friends from Brenalan Farm dropped off our lamb order yesterday. \u00a0We have 25 pounds of chops, stew meat, ground, and various awful things. \u00a0Ooops, you know I meant &#8220;offal.&#8221; \u00a0 Wish we had a dog.
