Jumbo Deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/jack-in-the-box-logo.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2249\" title=\"jack-in-the-box-logo\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/jack-in-the-box-logo.jpeg\" alt=\"jack-in-the-box-logo\" width=\"500\" height=\"357\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>If your motivation for stopping at a fast food place is the value proposition, calories for dollars, one would be hard-pressed to top the Jumbo Deal currently on offer at Jack in the Box.\u00a0 A Jumbo Jack burger (at least 1\/4 pound pre-cooked, in my estimation), two tacos, small fries, and a beverage.\u00a0 That&#8217;s\u00a0 1200 calories, more if you don&#8217;t go with a diet soft drink.\u00a0\u00a0 A day&#8217;s worth of food for most people, for less than $3.50.\u00a0 That&#8217;s less then most of the premium sandwiches at McDonald&#8217;s.\u00a0 (Big Macs and Quarter Pounders with cheese are 540 and 510 calories, respectively, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/nutrition.mcdonalds.com\/nutritionexchange\/nutritionComparison.do\">McDonald&#8217;s nutrition info on their website<\/a>.\u00a0 A big burger there, essentially three sides, and a drink are going to be more than double in price at McDonald&#8217;s then this offering at JITB.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>To my taste, this burger patty tops McD&#8217;s (even their Angus, which I have previously opined to me tastes exactly like a larger version of the quarter-pounder).\u00a0\u00a0 To get a better grip on the patty taste, I ditched the chopped lettuce, tomatoes and mayo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I like the fact that Jack in the Box offers all of their menu at all hours.\u00a0 Mostly because that means all of <a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/jack6-PNG.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2257\" title=\"jack6 PNG\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/jack6-PNG-300x141.png\" alt=\"jack6 PNG\" width=\"300\" height=\"141\" \/><\/a>the condiments are out at all times, so whether your taste leans towards dousing your burger with pancake syrup, or putting Buffalo chicken sauce on your eggs, Jack&#8217;s is the place to do that.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Like White Castle, I have fond memories of visiting Jack in the Box late nites when I didn&#8217;t remember being there the next day, and wouldn&#8217;t have, if I hadn&#8217;t rolled over in bed to find taco crumbs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>But today I am attracted to their 24 hour menu, and of course their commercials.\u00a0 I also respect them because some years ago, I wrote them a letter pointing out a question I had about one of their tv commercials, and they replied kindly, and changed the commercial.\u00a0 While I don&#8217;t remember exactly, I suspect there were food coupons in the letter I received from them.\u00a0 That kind of customer service from a company HQ always endears me to them.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I&#8217;ve never paid all that much attention to JITB fries, but they are quite good as well, are obviously real potatoes, and fried nicely in a lighter oil than many establishments use.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 My neighborhood Jack is always spotless, and the servers are cordial.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>So I&#8217;m pumping the Jumbo Deal today, which the poster says &#8220;is for a limited time.&#8221;\u00a0 I hope that means &#8220;awhile.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(Photo\u00a0 below is from Jack in the Box Corporate PR website, used under their restrictions).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/jack-jumbo2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2248\" title=\"jack jumbo2\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/jack-jumbo2.png\" alt=\"jack jumbo2\" width=\"541\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/24\/1180248\/restaurant\/Portland\/Jack-in-the-Box-McMinnville\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: medium none;
