{"id":1859,"date":"2009-12-10T13:12:28","date_gmt":"2009-12-10T21:12:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/?p=1859"},"modified":"2009-12-10T13:12:28","modified_gmt":"2009-12-10T21:12:28","slug":"pacific-nw-taco-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.peterstromquist.com\/?p=1859","title":{"rendered":"Pacific NW &#8211; Taco Time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/taco-time.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1860\" title=\"taco time\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/taco-time.jpg\" alt=\"taco time\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a>Beginning in Eugene, Oregon in 1959, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tacotime.com\/index.html\">TacoTime<\/a> Restaurant Chain now has\u00a0 350+ locations in the United States, Canada and Kuwait.\u00a0 Taco Time is owned by the Kahala Corporation, which operates a number of food-related franchises, including Blimpie, Cold Stone, and about 10 others.<\/p>\n<p>I often joke with people that when one goes to Taco Bell, they could just order by &#8220;shape&#8221;, since the ingredients don&#8217;t really vary, just the delivery vehicle does.<\/p>\n<p>Taco Time is a little different in that regard, and offera slightly &#8220;higher grade&#8221; of fast &#8220;Mexican&#8221; food that does Taco Bell.<\/p>\n<p>But of course, I went to check out the Taco Burger.\u00a0 The first time I ever experience a &#8220;taco burger&#8221; was at one of the first <a title=\"http:\/\/www.tacojohns.com\/index.asp\" href=\"http:\/\/\">Taco John&#8217;s<\/a> in 1976.\u00a0\u00a0 Back then, Taco Johns were a self-contained unit (basically a trailer) that was delivered to a building site and placed on a foundation.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t remember, of course, what the Taco Johns burger tasted like, but I imagine it wasn&#8217;t much different than the Taco Time one I had today, seasoned meat, lettuce, tomatoes, grated cheese on a hamburger bun.\u00a0\u00a0 Taco Time&#8217;s was flavorful, but could have used more meat, in my opinion.\u00a0\u00a0 T<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tacotime.com\/menu\/combo_meals.html\">he Taco Time menu is online<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t try the &#8220;Mexi-Fries&#8221; which look suspiciously like tots!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/taco-time-png.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1861\" title=\"taco time png\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/taco-time-png.png\" alt=\"taco time png\" width=\"532\" height=\"327\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beginning in Eugene, Oregon in 1959, the TacoTime Restaurant Chain now has\u00a0 350+ locations in the United States, Canada and Kuwait.\u00a0 Taco Time is owned by the Kahala Corporation, which operates a number of food-related franchises, including Blimpie, Cold Stone, and about 10 others.
