{"id":16385,"date":"2016-10-07T10:13:24","date_gmt":"2016-10-07T15:13:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/?p=16385"},"modified":"2016-10-07T10:13:24","modified_gmt":"2016-10-07T15:13:24","slug":"emils-frozen-pizza-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.peterstromquist.com\/?p=16385","title":{"rendered":"Emils Frozen Pizza Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/20160930_100058.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-16386\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-16386\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/20160930_100058-300x212.jpg\" alt=\"Emils Frozen Pizza Review\" width=\"218\" height=\"154\" \/><\/a>&#8220;Exceeds Expectations,&#8221; the package of Emil&#8217;s Pizza boasts. \u00a0And you know what? \u00a0It did, for me. \u00a0And I was surprised that it did. \u00a0Making &#8220;Real Good Pizza Since 1961,&#8221; \u00a0Emil&#8217;s is based in Watertown, WI, and must be another one of those Upper Midwest pizzas that got its launch as a local mom and pop \u00a0selling frozen pies to bars. (I&#8217;m guessing).<\/p>\n<p>I picked up the traditional thin crust sausage pie, which weighs in at 21.6 oz (Now 20% larger!). \u00a0It was $6.99 at one of my local grocers, which puts it in the &#8220;medium value&#8221; range for frozen pizzas.<\/p>\n<p>After taking it out of the package, I was immediately leery of the diced approach to the cheese, figuring it would not be adequate to cover the pie.
