{"id":15897,"date":"2016-04-06T10:22:32","date_gmt":"2016-04-06T15:22:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/?p=15897"},"modified":"2016-04-06T10:22:32","modified_gmt":"2016-04-06T15:22:32","slug":"union-pie-pizza-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.peterstromquist.com\/?p=15897","title":{"rendered":"Urban Pie Pizza Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/20160403_153544.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-15902\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-15902\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/20160403_153544-300x243.jpg\" alt=\"Urban Pie Frozen Pizza Review\" width=\"164\" height=\"133\" \/><\/a>There was a time when the major beer companies started putting out &#8220;small brands&#8221; (semi-anonymously) to compete with the rapidly-growing craft beer industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Seems that Milwaukee&#8217;s Palermo Pizza, which has been around forever, took a tip from the brewers, and have\u00a0\u00a0rolled out (I think) six new &#8216;brands&#8217; over the past two years. \u00a0I&#8217;ve tried a bunch of them, including their <a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/2013\/05\/palermos-classic-frozen-pizza\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Classic<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/2016\/01\/sasquatch-pizza-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sasquatch<\/a> (available at WalMart only), <a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/2015\/02\/pmos-pizza-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">P&#8217;Mos<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/2013\/08\/screamin-sicilian-pizza-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Screamin&#8217; Sicilian<\/a>. I had mixed feelings about some of them, but I continue to buy Screamin&#8217; Sicilian, because I like the amble toppings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eatuppizza.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Urban Pie <\/a>is their latest offering, and they come in four different varieties, &#8220;styled after&#8221; specific neighborhoods in the U.S. \u00a0I chose the &#8220;Mission District,&#8221; which boasts\u00a0Uncured Pepperoni.\u00a0Chicken Sausage,\u00a0Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauce,\u00a0Tomatoes,\u00a0Basil,\u00a0Green Peppers,\u00a0Onions,\u00a0Crimini Mushrooms. and a four cheese mix &#8211;\u00a0Romano &#8211; Mozzarella &#8211; Parmesan &#8211; Provolone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">That&#8217;s a pile of ingredients for my personal tastes, I like a couple-three toppings at most, and my personal preference is a cracker thin crispy crust. But surprise, I liked this. The crust is about the thickness of what some shops call &#8220;hand-tossed,&#8221; but it&#8217;s flaky &#8211; almost like a matzoh flour, unique, I think, in the frozen pizza biz. \u00a0Good show.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The &#8220;Little Italy&#8221; has pesto, fresh mozz, and tomatoes. &#8220;Lakeview&#8221; is chicken sausage, roasted yellow peppers and spinach. &#8220;Northend&#8221;\u00a0is a mushroom and truffle pie, with a three cheese combination, including Asiago.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Urban Pie has a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eatuppizza.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">locator on the top, right hand side<\/a> of their site. \u00a0At the bottom of this post, you&#8217;ll find the ingredient panel from the package.
