{"id":15077,"date":"2015-09-29T08:27:48","date_gmt":"2015-09-29T13:27:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/?p=15077"},"modified":"2015-09-29T08:27:48","modified_gmt":"2015-09-29T13:27:48","slug":"farmer-johns-sausage-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.peterstromquist.com\/?p=15077","title":{"rendered":"Farmer Johns Sausage Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/logo.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-15082\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/logo.jpeg\" alt=\"Farmer John Sausage Review\" width=\"248\" height=\"124\" \/><\/a>I&#8217;ve never been much for &#8220;brown and serve&#8221; type breakfast sausages; to me, they have always represented one of the main components of civic group and church pancake breakfasts, huge chafing trays of the little pork links.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But it&#8217;s hard to pass up any processed pork product that is selling for around $2 a pound these days, less than half what you would pay for other breakfast meats, whether your favorites are bacon, ham, or smoked or patty sausage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.farmerjohn.com\/\">Farmer Johns<\/a> Original Breakfast sausage are always a buck for a 1\/2 pound package at Dollar Tree and most club stores. \u00a0Fairly often, they are on sale for even less. \u00a0So that&#8217;s a deal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">They are &#8220;skinless,&#8221; and they are not pre-cooked, so prep will take you 10-15 minutes on the stove top or under the broiler. \u00a0No one recommends microwaving them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Farmer Johns is an L.A. company, located in Vernon, just south of downtown LA. They&#8217;ve been around since 1931, and make the full range of processed pork products: bacon, sausage, hot dogs, lunch meat, hams&#8230;&#8230;.including the local favorite &#8220;Dodger Dog,&#8221; \u00a0sold at Dodger stadium and in retail outlets. \u00a0The factory (USDA est. 360) (pictured below) is &#8220;famous&#8221; for its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/la_addict\/sets\/72157600117263368\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">extensive murals depicting rural life<\/a>.
