You can keep this in mind when you are experimenting at home, if you want to create the perfect &#8220;Thai&#8221; hot dog, for example, or a &#8220;French&#8221; hamburger!<\/p>\n<p>The Building Blocks of Ethnic Cuisines:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Italian<\/strong> &#8211; Tomatoes, garlic, basil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, prosciutto, Parmesan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mexican<\/strong> &#8211; Corn, chiles, beans, lard, squash, vanilla, sesame, cinnamon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chinese<\/strong> &#8211; Ginger, garlic, scallions, Sichuan (sic) pepper, chilies, soy sauce, mushrooms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>French<\/strong> &#8211; Leeks, carrot, onion, celery, cram, butter, eggs, thyme, parsley, bay leaves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spanish<\/strong> &#8211; Garlic, saffron, tomato, smoked paprika, olive oil, piquilla peppers, jamon<\/p>\n<p><strong>Greek<\/strong> &#8211; Lemon juice, olive oil, oregano, olives, yogurt, feta, lamb, eggplant, zucchini<\/p>\n<p><strong>South American<\/strong> &#8211; Tomato, lime, potatoes, onions, chiles, oranges, black beans<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thai<\/strong> &#8211; Basil, garlic, ginger, chiles, mint, tamarind, lemongrass<\/p>\n<p>Indian &#8211; Garlic, ginger, onion, curry paste, lamb, cardamon, tumeric, cumin<\/p>\n<p>Cajun &#8211; Celery, onion, bell pepper, crawfish, file, boudin, roux, redfish.<\/p>\n<p>Got it?  Get it!
