{"id":13792,"date":"2015-03-17T11:01:17","date_gmt":"2015-03-17T16:01:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/?p=13792"},"modified":"2015-03-17T11:01:17","modified_gmt":"2015-03-17T16:01:17","slug":"blues-bbq-and-grill-review-east-dundee-il","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.peterstromquist.com\/?p=13792","title":{"rendered":"Blues BBQ and Grill Review &#8211; East Dundee, IL"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_13795\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13795\" style=\"width: 258px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/20150310_183447.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-13795\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/20150310_183447-300x182.jpg\" alt=\"The Blues BBQ and Grill Review East Dundee\" width=\"258\" height=\"156\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13795\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Table top BBQ sauces<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>So there were these guys, living in Maryland, disgusted with the state of &#8216;cue in the area, so they bought a truck and created their own. \u00a0From there, they have expanded to brick and mortars in \u00a0Virginia and East Dundee, IL. \u00a0 The latter location seems like a stretch for managing, but hey, their working overtime leads to better meal opportunities for me.<\/p>\n<p>I tried to get in here last time through town, but it was closed for a private party. \u00a0Not so tonight. &#8220;The Blues&#8221; peddles a variety of BBQ entrees and styles (KC, Memphis, Savannah). \u00a0 I enjoy South Carolina \/ Georgia &#8220;yellow&#8221; BBQ, which was made famous, I suspect, by the late regional pitmaster Maurice\u00a0Bessinger, and his regional chain of &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.piggiepark.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Piggy Park<\/a>&#8221; BBQs. In addition to the mustard based sauce, &#8216;cue in those parts are just as likely to use chopped ham as pulled pork. \u00a0It&#8217;s a tasty experience.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bluesbbqco.com\/ChicagoMenut.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The full menu<\/a>\u00a0at Blues BBQ incorporates the &#8216;cue with a number of Southern staples and sides, like fried green tomatoes, collard greens and the like.<\/p>\n<p>They make their sauces in-house, and the KC one leans toward the &#8216;sweet&#8217; end of the taste spectrum, while the others are more the vinegar variety. They have a &#8216;secret&#8217; kitchen seasoning they call &#8220;crack,&#8221; which they apply amply to many of the dishes. \u00a0If you&#8217;re sensitive to salt, as for your hand-cut, fresh fries unseasoned.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been blessed lately in the burger world, to have consumed some really outstanding beef patties, and tonight was no exception.
