{"id":13406,"date":"2015-01-19T10:28:59","date_gmt":"2015-01-19T16:28:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/?p=13406"},"modified":"2015-01-19T10:28:59","modified_gmt":"2015-01-19T16:28:59","slug":"texan-bbq-algonquin-reviews","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.peterstromquist.com\/?p=13406","title":{"rendered":"Texan BBQ Algonquin Reviews"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/20150118_140920.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-13411\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/20150118_140920-300x193.jpg\" alt=\"Texan BBQ Algonquin Review\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" \/><\/a>I was in this place once 25 years or so ago; \u00a0they&#8217;ve been around for about 30+ years in this distant Chicago suburb. \u00a0 It&#8217;s fairly standard barbecue fare (for the midwest) offering a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.texanbbq.com\/MenuDinner.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">full menu<\/a>, including pork and beef ribs, turkey, sausage, chicken, brisket and additional, non-smoked fare like burgers, chicken fried steak and the like. \u00a0Standard sides are beans, slaw, and a choice of potato. \u00a0Food is available on plates, with one, two, or three meats, or as sandwiches.<\/p>\n<p>Meats are cooked in house on a hickory fire.<\/p>\n<p>Order and pay for your food at the counter when you walk in, have a seat and your meals will be brought to you.<\/p>\n<p>The have a &#8216;sauce bar&#8217;, where you can fill ramekins of &#8220;mild,&#8221; &#8220;hot,&#8221; or &#8220;spicy&#8221; sauce, but they all tasted exactly the same to me. \u00a0 We had the ribs\/chicken combo, the chicken fried steak, and an order of rings.<\/p>\n<p>The chicken fried steak was \u00a0a large serving, two pieces, with gravy and biscuits and the aforementioned sides. \u00a0 The menu had stated each entree came with Texas toast and pickles, but no such luck today.
