But I didn&#8217;t really feel like spending all weekend at it \u2013 when I usually make scratch bread or pizza dough, it&#8217;s a two day process.<\/p>\n<p>So I went with the old reliable frozen bread dough. Which isn&#8217;t all that impromptu either, as you need a day to thaw it.<\/p>\n<p><b>Ingredients<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 loaf frozen bread dough or pizza crust<\/p>\n<p>6 cloves garlic, diced<\/p>\n<p>1 T fresh parsley diced<\/p>\n<p>1 T basil<\/p>\n<p>4 oz pepperoni diced<\/p>\n<p>3 oz your preferred \u201cItalian\u201d cheese<\/p>\n<p>2 T butter<\/p>\n<p>2 T olive oil<\/p>\n<p><b>Method<\/b><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12238\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12238\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/20140919_064827_Android.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12238\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/20140919_064827_Android-300x196.jpg\" alt=\"Frozen bread  loaf, thawed\" width=\"300\" height=\"196\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12238\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Frozen bread loaf, thawed<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Using a roller, or a 2 liter bottle of soda if you don&#8217;t have a rolling pin, make a couple of 8\u201d circles of dough.<\/p>\n<p>Slice lengthwise into \u00bd inch wide strips. Tie into a loose knot. Saute the garlic, herbs and pepperoni until it has a little crisp going on.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12239\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12239\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/20140919_065336.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12239\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/20140919_065336-300x221.jpg\" alt=\"Saute meat and veggies\" width=\"300\" height=\"221\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12239\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Saute meat and veggies<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Spoon out the garlic, parsley and pepperoni, and leave as much oil\/butter in the skillet as you can. Place in a bowl and toss knots in the mixture.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12242\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12242\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/20140919_072302.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12242\" src=\"http:\/\/burgersdogspizza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/20140919_072302-300x196.jpg\" alt=\"Toss knots with vegs, meats, oil and butter\" width=\"300\" height=\"196\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12242\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Toss knots with vegs, meats, oil and butter<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Put the knots in the skillet in a single layer, drizzle with more oil and cover tightly, allow to double in size. Brush with more olive oil when you remove from oven and dust with your Italian cheese. Serve immediately.
